It is characterized by asymmetrical facades, flowing lines, rich decoration and the use of natural forms in the design.

Kyiv Art Nouveau was often complemented by national elements such as ornaments or symbols that emphasized its uniqueness.

In Kyiv, the House with Chimeras and the House of the Weeping Widow are striking examples of Art Nouveau.
